Frequently Asked Questions About Extension Boards
1. Difference between the Fuse protector and surge protector?
A Surge protector is a device in which the circuit breaks when voltage spikes (passing above that particular rated current) or Power surges happen. But in Fuse technology, you have to replace the fuse if it blows.
2.What is Surge?
Surge is an unexpected, temporary, uncontrolled increase in current or voltage in an electrical circuit. A power surge can occur for several reasons, such as lightning strikes, faulty electrical wiring, short circuit, etc. (Note: surge protector is a lifesaver for electronic devices)
3. What is Overload protection?
An electrical overload is a condition where too much current passes through an electric wire than a rated current (passing above that particular rated current). When overload occurs, wires heat and can melt, with the risk of starting a fire. For example, suppose you are using 5 /5 sockets of an extension board. And if the current passing through the wire of that extension board (from plug to extension board) is above that particular rated current (above max load of extension board), then wires heat and can melt, with the risk of starting a fire in the extension board.

4.For heavy appliances like AC, refrigerator, Induction cooktop, etc., which type of extension board is used???
Simply choose those extension boards which safely take load up to 3000 -4000W.
5.What is the ideal cord length for extension board?
Most of the boards come with 2 meters of cord, it is better to go for the cord length of at least two meters. You can also go for a longer wire as per your requirement.
6.Better to go for how many sockets?
It is totally up to your use, as per me, 3 socket is enough minimum and 5-7, if you have to run more appliances.
7. Is led light necessary in board?
Yes, it is advisable to go for the board that comes with at least 1 power indicator that will indicate the power supply.
8.Can I use high power appliances like an iron box and water heater on 1.5mm copper wire extension board?
